The Opportunity:

The opportunity was created and continues to be provided by a disaster. December 26, 2004, the Tsunami struck and the need was created. Today earthquakes still rock the northern and western part of the island of Sumatra…the hardest hit by the Tsunami. The opportunity continues. Buildings move and sway. The ground shakes. Within moments the fragile peace of the people is shattered. Many begin to flee, causing accidents and more injury. Others sit in their tents or make-shift houses looking toward the ocean to see if the Tsunami will come again.

A long-term agriculture project is being developed that will meet many needs of many people. The project began recently and should be operational within a year.

Short-term teams are needed to work with the nationals in this project and other short-term projects. The next planned team is summer 2007. However, others can join teams going at other times. Contact Innovative Humanitarian Solutions for a schedule and list of projects.
